First Assembly of God, Meadowbrook, IL

Gail and I had the privilege of sharing in ministry at First A/G in Meadowbrook, IL. Pastor Alta Vaughn is the pastor, and she is an amazing blessing to the Kingdom of God. She has faithfully pastored in Meadowbrook since her husband, James, went to be with the Lord. Pastor James Vaughn was the founding pastor of the Assembly of God church in Meadowbrook. Meadowbrook is situated just outside of Bethalto and a short drive from Edwardsville.

Pastor Alta has a true passion for people. She annually walks to every house in Meadowbrook sharing the love of Jesus and inviting them to church. Yes, I said, ANNUALLY!! They have 6 buses that they use each week to pick up dozens of kids from all around the region. In addition to pastoring, she also works full-time as the Vice President at Wegman Electric. I'm not sure how she does it all, but I know that she honors God in everything she does!

Pastor Alta always tells us, 'anytime you have an opening or a tough Sunday that you can't book, just let me know!' She invited us to come this time with only two weeks notice as we had a traveling schedule change. If the Assemblies of God ever offers 'Sainthood'...I nominate, Pastor Alta Vaughn!!

Here are a few pictures from our service!

  • I am looking for help in locating Brother Bell that used to be the pastor at Bethalto Assembly of God back in the late 60s or early 70s. My Mother truly loved him as a pastor. Rena (Downer) McCorkle. Mom is now 84 and waiting in a nursing home to go to heaven. It is looking like she will be going home for Christmas. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
