WIO GOES KOA!
Greetings from Pennsylvania! I believe that the comment from the peanut gallery after two days of extended travel was, 'You mean we're still in Pennsylvania?' We decided to break up our trip from northern New Jersey to Washington, PA into two days.
After 7 hours of travel, we successfully arrived 3 1/2 hours distance from New Jersey. Good time, eh? Our first days journey ended at the KOA in Bellefonte, PA, just minutes off of I-80. My idea of camping is typically the Holiday Inn...or if I'm roughing it...the Holiday Inn Express! However, I must say, KOA has come a long way from what I had always envisioned! From wireless internet to the in-ground swimming pool to our cable hook-up right at our site, it was not quite the simple, rustic field I was anticipating. We had a relaxing time recovering from our long drive.
We enjoyed site #29, just off 2nd Street. A site for rookies; you can pull in one side and out the other...no need to back up that 34 foot beast!
Our second day on the road, we made much better time...just over 5 hours! Our handy computer map program showed us a great shortcut that trimmed over 40 miles off our trip. Sounds great doesn't it? It was if you don't mind driving through downtown Pittsburgh with over 40' of vehicle. Did I mention that it was 4:30pm and raining cats and dogs? Todd negotiated the city brilliantly!
Pray for us this week as we head to Bible Release Time Camp in Jumonville, PA. I will try to update you all as often as possible. Have a great week!
