Keepin' the Sun for Themselves!!
I told them that I didn't think it was fair to keep all of their incredible weather to themselves, but those Boca Ratonians didn't seem to care!! They seemed to enjoy their little piece of January heaven!
Gail, Anthony, Emily and I really enjoyed our time in Boca Raton. We had the privilege of kicking off the concert series in the new year at First Presbyterian Church in Boca Raton. ( http://www.firstpresboca.org/ ) We shared special music in both morning services and held an afternoon concert. We shared a mix of drama and music.
We were so warmly welcomed by all. A huge thank you to the music pastor, Terry Brock, our long time friend from CBC & HeartSong. Thank you to Miss Barb who took care of all technical aspects of the service. Barb, you were such a blessing and exhibited a true servant's heart!! Thanks to "Reverend, Doctor, Pastor, 'Just Call Me Kirk', McCormick!"
Thank you, Brock, for jumping the Suburban, as I left the keys in the ignition, turned in the on position through both morning services. Finally, thanks to the citizens of Boca for not stealing my SUV. ;)

Reconnecting!!
Our travels brought us to southern Florida. We are sharing in ministry at First Presbyterian in Boca Raton. As I mapped it out, I knew we would be close to Miami, so I thought I'd contact one of my MySpace friends...and fellow Central Bible College alums!! Not only did we go to college together, Aaron & Shelly Lerberg served in the Illinois District before moving to the Miami area.
Thankfully, they were able to come to Boca and meet us at a park. We finally got to meet their beautiful daughter, Kylie. It was so fun to see them all. Here are some pictures from our day!

Multi-Tasking

As many of you know who are in my cell's phonebook, I've been on the road alone. It is my tradition to call everyone in my phonebook to catch up with friends.
Gail and the kids have been in Bloomington, IL with Grandpa and Grandma Gummerman while I was in Springfield, MO enjoying a couple of meetings. Gail smiled as she learned that I was able to squeeze seven other "social events" to fill my days in Springfield. I went with only two meetings scheduled, but my propensity to embrace my "butterfly" tendencies was just too overwhelming. Needless to say, I had a lot of fun reconnecting with several friends.
Our ministry has been hopping. We've been from Normal, IL on Christmas Eve to Hartford, IL on New Year's Eve. Then on to Evansville, IN and back into IL. We had the privilege of leading worship for a concert of prayer at the Metro North Minister's Meeting this past Tuesday in Bethalto, IL.
It has been so marvelous to see the many lives that have been changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Please pray with us as we will be racking up another 2,880.2 miles (give or take a couple) in the next 3 weeks.
Keep your phones handy, I might just be callin'!!!
